Finding the Sweet Spot.

The Sweet Spot is where the magic happens for Mum Entrepreneurs.

As a coach helping mum entrepreneurs the intersection between the self (what you want, love), motherhood and business is where the magic happens. This is the sweet spot. If we can get all of it lined up 80% of the time then I believe this is where mums can thrive.

We often see each of the separate circles: motherhood, business ownership, and personal identity as just that separate. Each demanding our full attention, each pulling us in different directions. But the magic doesn't happen in trying to keep these worlds apart, keeping them compartmentalised, but in finding the sweet spot where they intersect and using that to our advantage.

The Motherhood Circle

Motherhood is a 24/7 role filled with deep love, endless responsibilities, and countless moments that take our breath away (or leave us frustrated!). It's school runs and scraped knees, bedtime stories and morning rushes. It's the role that often makes us feel like we need to be everywhere all at once, answering every call, fixing every problem…doing all the things all the time. For me personally this has been a tricky journey to navigate. I have a tendency to want to keep everyone happy all the time and mostly at the expense of what I want. Starting a business was the beginning of giving myself permission to dream and go for something I want to do.

The Business Circle

Then there's our business life – the dreams we've built from scratch, the goals we're chasing, the life legacy we're creating (and for some it even ripples out to community and Earth). It's early morning emails, strategy sessions, and that persistent drive to grow something meaningful, to serve and have impact. It's the part of us that refuses to settle, that pushes boundaries, that keeps going wanting it to be the success we dream of.

The Self Circle

And somewhere in there is ourselves – the woman behind both the mother and the entrepreneur. She's the one who needs that morning coffee in peace, the occasional pilates class, or just five minutes to breathe. She's the foundation of it all, yet often the first to be neglected. Our well-being is paramount to making motherhood and business work. But often I see women who are overwhelmed, burnt out, resentful or just exhausted. They have not prioritised themselves.

Finding the Sweet Spot

Here's the truth I've discovered: these circles aren't meant to be perfectly separated. In fact, the most beautiful moments happen when they overlap:

When Motherhood Meets Business

  • Your children learn resilience by watching you overcome business challenges (#rolemodel!)

  • Your maternal intuition enhances your leadership skills

  • Your time management abilities reach superhuman levels

  • Your kids develop an entrepreneurial mindset naturally (omg, the number of times my kids want to start a business too!)

When Business Meets Self

  • You turn a passion project into a profitable business

  • Your self-care becomes non-negotiable because you need the energy to be the CEO

  • Your professional growth feeds your personal development (and over and over)

  • Your confidence in business spills over into all areas of life

When Self Meets Motherhood

  • Your personal interests create bonding opportunities with your children (when they see you sparkle it lights them up too)

  • Your self-care makes you a more patient, present parent

  • Your authenticity shows your children the importance of staying true to oneself

  • Your personal boundaries make you a better role model

The Magic in the Middle

The sweet spot – that beautiful intersection where all three circles meet – is where we find true harmony. It's not about perfect balance; it's about integration. It's about:

  • Building a business that aligns with your values (and your family’s too)

  • Creating workflows that respect your personal boundaries (using that Calendar to the max)

  • Finding creative ways to include your children in your business journey ( I see lots of women doing this - getting there kids to understand the value of work, the value of money (and earning an income) and how to work in a team plus so much more).

  • Making decisions that honour all parts of who you are. Read: ALL THE PARTS.

Practical Steps to Find Your Sweet Spot

1. Audit Your Time: Look for opportunities where you can combine elements of all three circles

2. Redefine Balance: Think integration rather than separation

3. Create Boundaries: But make them flexible enough to bend without breaking (because we all know that kids get sick and need home days too).

4. Include Your Children: Find age-appropriate ways to involve them in your business

5. Schedule Self-Care: Put it in your calendar like any other important meeting

The Permission Slip You've Been Waiting For

This is your permission to stop feeling guilty about any of it. You don't have to be either a perfect mother, or a successful business owner, or completely on top of your self-care game. You get to be a wonderful mix of all three, finding your own unique way to make them work together.

Because in that sweet spot – that magical middle where motherhood, business, and self intersect – that's where you'll find you're not just surviving, you're thriving. And that's where you're teaching your children the most valuable lesson of all: that a woman can be many things, all at once, in her own beautiful way. I truly believe that this the the super power of mothers who have businesses and this is our opportunity.

Remember, the goal isn't perfection in any circle, but harmony and flow where they all meet. That's where the magic happens. That's where YOU happen. And that’s where your epic life with freedom, flexibility, wealth creation and family adventures happens too.
